Our next event is on Saturday, October 27th when Rock Wall Winery will be pouring their award winning wines at the gallery from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

The closing party/reception will be held on November 9, 6 - 9 pm, in conjunction with the 2nd Friday art receptions of the Oakland/Alameda Estuary.  Join us!

Our current exhibit “From One Thing To Another – The Art of Recycle - a group show of art made by reclaimed and upcycled materials” is on view in the gallery for only a few more weeks, and we wanted to remind you that we are open Saturdays from noon to 5:00 and by appointment.

This group exhibition includes assemblage, collage, sculpture, furniture, jewelry and stationary – all made of natural or manufactured materials, found objects, or fragments originally not intended as art, but when reassembled these things are transformed into incredible visual statements.  From one thing to another.

We have had a great month, with lots of visitors on Saturdays, and our midpoint 2nd Friday reception on October 12 was a convivial mix of gallery supporters, artists and new folks to our space, all enjoying the art and freshly made bruschetta.

The Gray Loft Gallery celebrates the phenomenal achievements of emerging and established artists, with an emphasis on those who live and work in the Bay Area, in a non-traditional art space.  The mission of the gallery is to provide exhibition opportunities for artists in a setting that is an alternative to the traditional gallery model.  The newly-opened Gray Loft Gallery is a unique venue located on the 3rd floor of one of Oakland’s oldest artists’ work/live warehouses in the historic artist district Jingletown.
